The Andersons Announces DePompei to Retire, Blanchett to Lead HR

MAUMEE, Ohio, Jan. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Andersons, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANDE) announces Arthur D. DePompei, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, will retire April 30. Valerie M. (Val) Blanchett will become Vice President of Human Resources, effective February 15. DePompei will provide assistance during the transition.

Blanchett has more than 30 years of extensive HR experience, including organizational effectiveness, leading large-scale cultural change, talent management, labor relations and merger and acquisition work. Most recently she served as the Vice President for the Food Ingredients & Systems Platform for Cargill, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minn., leading the North American Human Resources teams. Prior to joining Cargill in 2006, Blanchett spent 21 years with Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Mich. and Chicago, Ill., holding various HR leadership positions as part of the team transforming the manufacturing organization to lean concepts.

Blanchett earned her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich., and her master's degree in public administration from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Mich. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), holds a Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification and a Human Capital Strategist Certification from the Human Capital Institute.

She will be relocating to the Maumee area in the near future.

Since joining The Andersons in 2008, DePompei was instrumental in helping the company attain human resource best practices by integrating the HR function throughout the business units and modernizing the company's HR information systems.
